Advanced Data Trees – Gh Masterclass

“ Advanced Data Trees – Gh Masterclass ” is a 1-day (5-hour) Grasshopper intensive class, dealing with advanced data tree manipulation strategies within Grasshopper. This technical workshop is best suited for designers with some experience in generative modelling with grasshopper, who wish to up their game by gaining better control and understanding of its data structure and relevant tools.

Course Outline

During the course of this workshop, you will learn how to:

• Get the grasp of flattening, grafting, flipping and shifting trees
• Write your own branch paths
• Use wildcards
• Perform lexical operations
• Use path masks
• Control sub-groups within a data-tree

Pre-requisites

Requires Windows skills and desire to create. Previous grasshopper3d modeling experience is deemed greatly helpful. A general understanding of basic mathematical principles is also considered helpful, but an explanatory lecture will be given where needed.

All participants are required to have:

• Their personal laptop with them. Additional NUC computers can be provided after timely communication.
